Ms. Karen said, "Your boy Luke is quite the independent thinker!" She explained that they were talking about soldiers and learning about them. Part of the craft activity involved decorating their scabbard with stickers. Luke refused to do so. So Ms. Karen took him aside and showed him pictures and explained that back in the day, the soldiers had their swords decorated with ornamental things. She showed him an example. Immediately, he said, "I want to do it like this!" So he drew a design on his scabbard. She was so impressed and said that this shows he is very left-brained and logical... and quite mature!
