Zachary 12 months
Happy FIRST birthday, my sweet boy!! I can't believe it's been a full year, and that you are ONE! I will always remember you this year making that face with your crinkled up nose, and the ways you have surprised us with your physical achievements! These days, you are climbing up, climbing down (you have learned to put your legs down from the couch in order to get down to the floor). You also love your brothers' toys and you go through great lengths to get them. These days, your favorite items are your brother's pencil which you also like to draw on paper. You also like to play with cars and scoot them on the floor. Crawling remains your method of transportation, which is always so cute! You love to crawl into your brothers' room and wake them up. Speaking of brothers, you love to pat Josiah when he's feeling down. You also know how to lie down for a diaper change, which by the way - every diaper change involves a butt scratch from you. You are modern baby all the way! You love to self-feed with a pouch, not finger foods or soups, etc. but you like to put a pouch to your mouth and squeeze the contents out. You also love the phone and laptop. In fact, if you're quiet, we know you have found the phone and are scrolling through it or typing away on the laptop. You're so adorable! You're still very attached to mommy, though you do have bonding times with daddy at night when he's reading flap books with you. The boys love you and so do we! Happy 12 months, my baby boy!!

Zachary 11 months
Happy 11 months, my sweet Zachy-Bear. I can't believe you are TURNING ONE next month! How time flies!
Well, my little baby, you're not so little anymore! In the course of the past month, you have grown more mobile than ever before! You went from army-crawling on my birthday... to full blown crawling... to pulling yourself up on furniture! Nowadays, I'm busy trying to keep you from putting something dangerous in your mouth! I don't have to worry about you falling ; that already happened... and you learned your lesson. So if I put you on the bed or on the couch, I know you won't come off because you're so smart! You know not to fall! :)
You are very intrigued by the iphone. Every chance you get, you'll charge at it... whether it's left on the couch or on the table. Once you get your hands on it, you start scrolling! I can't believe it! But yes, you know how to scroll. You also know to reach out to the keyboard of laptop computers. You're so quick and so focused! Maybe you will do some kind of work in the technology field one day. You definitely have interest!
You enjoy food, especially carrots and apples. When you're no longer interested in food, you're quick to drop them off from your high chair. You also love blueberries!
You continue to say Momma often, sometimes you'll say "mem" which translates to breastmilk. You jump or cringe every time I mention "You want da? (daddy)" or when you hear me tell Daddy "Can you take him?" You're so smart!
Since you are so good at crawling, you love to crawl to your brothers' room and wake them up! You also love to crawl to the kitchen and to the bathroom. We have to be careful because when you get to the bathroom you start playing with Josiah's potty. Not good!
You continue that make that cute nose-wrinkle expression, and you like to shout, imitate, and move your body to the sound of music. You're such a joyful baby and I love you so much. You bring so much laughter and joy to our lives! I love you, Zachy bear!

Breathing in 2021
January 2021...
God, REPAIR. Do Your work of REPAIR in me, in my life, in my family, in my marriage, in my boys.
Today I woke up early and spent some time browsing homeschooling materials. My spirit felt elevated. When I think about homeschooling, teaching, eating healthy, exercising -- I feel like I am on top of the world. I read with Josiah. I played with Zachary. I helped Luke with some character education materials. I was present. I was available.
And then I went outside. I felt the tug in my chest. The dreaded heaviness. The choking sensation my throat. The gasping for air. The air hunger. What is wrong with me? What is going on? Only You know. I am so depressed. I wish to be restored, to be repaired in this way.
Yet here I am.
Please, Lord, have mercy on me. Answer my cry for help. Restore me, relieve me, repair me here on Earth. And soon...
In the meantime... help me not to miss out on living in the moment. Help me not to live my life gasping for air, but instead, breathing easily, freely in the precious moments that You have given me.

Zachary 10 Months
Happy 10 Months, my sweet Zachy Bear! I can't believe you're ALREADY 10 MONTHS! We have thoroughly been enjoying you. You are so playful, but you sure keep us on our toes!
At 10 months, you have a total of 8 teeth and you have been eating like a champ. You enjoy persimmons, oranges, greens, baby puffs and yogurt. You also pretty much love anything we're eating for dinner...although a few nights ago, you had lentil soup and had bad gas all night long. Yikes!
On December 16, a day after my birthday, you surprised me by crawling to me. It was the sweetest thing ever and now you often will crawl (army crawl) to me. Hearing you say, "Mamamama" continues to warm my heart. You still make the wrinkled nose facial expression, and you love to play with daddy. In fact, you love to play all the time. Sometimes, one of us would cover our faces and you like to peal our hands off our face. You're super happy, always giggling!
I love when you shriek - we do it back and forth often. It's so amusing to you. You love anything that is NOT a toy, such as scissors, pencils, pens, hair brushes, etc. It almost seems like you know your'e not supposed to have them because when you end up with them you make noise and quickly get our attention!
I have to be very quick with you in general. The other day, you tried to eat a crayon! Another day, you tried to eat a rock! Your hands are so fast... I'm so thankful that God has kept you safe this whole time!
We continue to cosleep, but it's been rough. You can be a light sleeper and you kick really hard when you're awake. You still love milk.
You don't love bath time as much anymore. And you also don't seem to care about being put down long in your various stations (baby jumper, pack N play, etc.)
Mommy is super tired tonight because she's been up with you since 6, so we'll sign off here. I love you, Zachy Bear! Happy 10 months! <3
